The boy, aged 11, was taken to hospital by his mother after he said he had been racially abused at a primary school in Horry County, in northwest England, the Houghton and Sunderland Echo newspaper reported.
The teacher, who has not been named, apologised to the boy, who had attended the school on the day of the incident, the newspaper said.
The incident occurred after the boy told his mother he was being racially abused by teachers at the Horry school, a suburb of Manchester, where pupils in some of the city’s poorest wards are taught by a teacher who teaches them to be ”black cocks”.
In a separate incident on Monday, a 16-year-old boy in the Manchester suburb of Salford said he was racially abused when he called a female pupil a ”black cunt” and a ”dirty white motherfucker”.
A police investigation is under way, but a spokesman for the Haringey and Stoke-on-Trent district school authority said: ”The incident at the school has now been reported to the police.
The district is fully cooperating with the police investigation.
In a statement, the authority said the boy’s mother said the incident had caused ”serious distress and anger to the school community”.(Reporting by Jonathan Thibodeau; Editing by Ros Russell)
